What is Wi-Fi Calling and Texting?

Have you ever been in an area that had no cell phone reception but Wi-Fi internet was available? Wi-Fi Calling and Texting can solve this problem. Twigby Customers on the old Sprint network are able to use Wi-Fi Calling and Texting on phones that support this feature at no cost. Continue reading to learn more about our free Wi-Fi Calling and Texting feature and everything it has to offer.

So, what is Wi-Fi Calling and Texting?

Wi-Fi Calling and Texting is a feature that helps you connect to make and receive phone calls and text messages across a Wi-Fi network. This feature is a great option for those who live in areas with overall weak coverage, such as campgrounds or simply a basement or building that seems to have spotty reception with traditional cell phone signals. It is also a great solution if you plan to travel outside the United States and have access to a reliable Wi-Fi connection, such as on a cruise ship. You will be able to make calls to U.S. numbers and receive them as well! The usage is simply deducted from your current minute plan selection.

How does Wi-Fi Calling and Texting work?

Well, we won’t get into the nuts and bolts, because it is very technical. But don’t worry, it’s not too technical to use and is quite easy to set up. When using Wi-Fi Calling and Texting, you simply make and receive calls and text messages with Wi-Fi. Instead of using Twigby’s nationwide cellular network. A capable phone that is active on our old network can make and receive a phone call or text message over a Wi-Fi network. This is the same Wi-Fi connection you have set up at your home or office or any other Wi-Fi network you may connect to while out and about away from home. Nothing changes except calls and texts are made over Wi-Fi instead of the usual cellular network!

What features work with Wi-Fi Calling and Texting?

  • Sending and receiving calls within the United States
  • Sending and receiving calls to the United States while traveling outside the United States
