Learn About the Broadband Facts Label

What are they?

The Federal Communications Commission, (FCC) has implemented a new way for consumers to easily compare internet broadband services by requesting companies display information in easy-to-read labels. These labels look like ones you would find on the side of foods, such as cereals, that display calorie and nutrition information.

Why are they important?

These labels help you compare Twigby Mobile plans and other providers to help you make the most informed decision. With all the information displayed in this fashion, it is easier for you to see exactly what a plan offers. You won’t have to click through every plan and read each plan offering in detail, all the information will be handy in the same place.  At Twigby Mobile, we hope this helps our customers make more informed decisions about their cell phone service.

What information is included?

The labels include information like plan prices, introductory rates, broadband speeds, data allowances, privacy policies, additional fees, network management practices and more.

Where can I find Twigby Mobile’s Broadband Labels?

You can find them on our plans page. Under the plans, click on Broadband Facts. You will see the details of each plan and the differences between them there.

Label Sections

Monthly Price: Is the cost of the plan before additional charges and monthly fees. It will be noted if this price is an introductory rate and the length of this rate within this section. The price after the introductory rate will be noted in this section as well. Contract length will be listed here. Since Twigby Mobile doesn’t require a contract and offers month-to-month plans, contract length is not included on our labels.

Additional Charges and Terms: This section is important to check to see what fees you will have on top of your monthly plan price. For Twigby Mobile, these fees include government-mandated fees such as the Federal Universal Service Fund Fee and the Federal Recovery Fee. Administration Fees are included in this section which are the same cost for all our plan offerings. Government taxes are also found here, but these will vary based on your location since local and state taxes vary across the U.S. Late fees and early termination fees will be noted in this section as well, but at Twigby Mobile, we never charge cancellation or late fees, so you won’t have to worry about those here.

Discounts and Bundles: Here you will find information about current bundles and discounts that we are offering customers. To find our current promotions, you can visit twigbymobile.net/promos.

Plan Speeds

Typical Download Speed: This refers to the rate at which data is transferred from the internet to your device. It's typically measured in megabits per second (Mbps) or gigabits per second (Gbps). The download speed determines how quickly you can access and retrieve content such as web pages, videos, music, or files from the internet. This can be affected by your device, location, and other factors.

Typical Upload Speed: This refers to the rate at which data is transferred from your device to the internet. It is typically measured in megabits per second (Mbps) or gigabits per second (Gbps). Upload speed affects how quickly you can send data to the internet, such as when you upload videos, photos, files, or perform activities like video conferencing and live streaming. This can be affected by your device, location, and other factors.

Typical Latency: This is what people refer to as “lag”. This is how long of a delay you have when downloading or uploading something. Lower latency is better because this means you have less of a lag when sharing videos, making calls, watching movies, etc. Since your data must travel from one endpoint to another across the internet, some latency is expected. However, if your latency is too high, watching movies or talking on video calls can become difficult.

Other Information

Data Included with Monthly Price: This section tells you how much high-speed data you will get on each plan from Twigby Mobile. We do not tack on charges if you go over during the month, instead your speeds will be reduced to 64Kbps/128Kbps for the remainder of the bill cycle. However, adding more high-speed data is simple, if you run out you can simply log in to your account and change to a higher data plan and you will only pay the difference. We also offer a high- speed data add on feature that can be managed within your selfcare account.  Likewise, if you realize you won’t use all your data in a month and you want to be put on a lower data plan, you can do it yourself from your Twigby Selfcare Account and the changes will be put in place for the following month. You can learn more about that here.

Network Management Policy: Here you will find a link to our network management policy. This policy explains how your data is managed with our service which includes information on blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization. At Twigby Mobile, you never have to worry about data deprioritization.

Privacy Policy: Here you will find a link to our privacy policy. This privacy policy is in compliance with FCC regulations for phone records.
